Visitation Ministry

What is it?

Visitation involves going to people on a one-to-one basis, sharing with them Faith and Hope, and giving them encouragement in their time of need, reassuring them that they are valued members of the Christian Community. The ministry includes care visits, as well as administering Holy Communion to the sick at their home, retirement complex, nursing home, or hospital.

The numbers of people in the ministry are divided into:

  • Those who administer Holy Communion only
  • Those who visit only
  • Those who do both

How to get involved?

Contact Denise Tuzes, Coordinator of Visitation at the Parish Office on 41516666. We have monthly meetings at 10.30 a.m. on the first Thursday of each month in the CWL room at the Bundaberg Catholic Community Centre, to which everyone is most welcome.

History

Mark 10:29 Peter began to say to him, "We have given up everything and followed you." And Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up "anything" for my sake and the sake of the Gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present life........... and eternal life in the age to come."

If you feel you would like to be involved in this ministry or you know of someone who would like a care visit or Holy Communion please contact Denise. This is a very special ministry highly recommended to anyone looking for a way to serve God.
